In the first year that the trees had fruit, I left And I thought that time would pass and I’d be back When the flags all started changing, the border was far away And so I changed my name Back then my heart was running before the scars took hold Was that the last place I called home? Remember when we used to walk together down that street When Rosebank Boulevard would shine like diamonds under my feet And when you looked into my eyes you didn’t see any pain On Rosebank Boulevard we’ll meet again On the first day of my new life, I shut the door And I didn’t speak to you like I did before Felt the loneliness within me turn all of my colors grey And I forgot my name With the bulls I started running, the hunger taking hold As you were begging God to save my soul Remember when we used to walk together down that street When Rosebank Boulevard would shine like diamonds under my feet And when you looked into my eyes you didn’t see any pain On Rosebank Boulevard we’ll meet again There’s so much darkness in me now I can’t turn back I don’t know how But I’ll bear the curse, I’ll take the blame To find my name Remember when we used to walk together down that street When Rosebank Boulevard would shine like diamonds under my feet And when you looked into my eyes you didn’t see any pain On Rosebank Boulevard we’ll meet again On Rosebank Boulevard we’ll meet again We’ll meet again

My Town 03:32
The American dream is getting thrown out at the bar She needed more attention went and crashed her car The depression and pills they make such a pretty pair Now she’s on her knees, can somebody hold back her hair? Between the heaves, her face gets harder Between the sheets her body colder Until her heart completely turns to stone You’re gonna love my town Where darkness fills the bone Forsake your heart but take your phone Where answers can’t be found The American dream waking up in a fog Puts on her Sunday best to down out the voice of God “No! It can’t be my fault!” she cries out in despair Now she’s on her knees no one will hear her prayer A mystery she tries embracing A memory she tries erasing Until she thinks and feels like everyone You’re gonna love my town Where darkness fills the bone Forsake your heart but take your phone Where answers can’t be found You’re gonna love my town Where preachers hate the truth But guilt can fill the pews Best shift your eyes to the ground Do you remember when? She was just a child Dreaming of the woman she could be Do you remember when? She started giving up Where the story ends I might not want to see I might not want to see You’re gonna love my town Where darkness fills the bone Forsake your heart but take your phone Where answers can’t be found You’re gonna love my town Where preachers hate the truth But guilt can fill the pews Best shift your eyes to the ground You’re gonna love my town You're gonna love my town You're gonna love my town You're gonna love my town

I watched you sparkle in the spotlight Seen the chosen signet ring Your voice would echo like a siren Lifted up and crowned as king One by one the people gathered To get the words to save their souls Behind the door I saw you pacing You couldn't fake it anymore And then I heard you say "I can't be wrong I've been right so long My castle is high and strong Let's not talk of the foundation You'll crack the savior's reputation" I watched the prophets stand before you Their questions cut you like a knife And with the blessing of the council You thought it wise to take their life But soon the bricks all started falling The spirit left how could this be? And with the rock upon your shoulder You tossed yourself into the sea And then I heard you say "I can't be wrong I've been right so long My castle is high and strong Let's not talk of the foundation You'll crack the savior's reputation" I watched the people lift their voices Where is the king where is the lord? Then all the maidens started singing, "Saul has fallen on his sword" The council dusted off your mantle And placed it on a younger soul Like you he sparkled in the spotlight I just can't take it anymore And then I heard him say "I can't be wrong I've been right so long My castle is high and strong Let's not talk of the foundation… He said "I can't be wrong I've been right so long My castle is high and strong Let's not talk of the foundation You'll crack the savior's reputation"

When did I become the enemy? Everybody has been talking and now you can’t look at me I guess you heard I fell apart Taken by some revelation that pulled me into the dark Why don’t you save me with your light? Why don’t you shake me from this night? There’s a darkness over all of my friends It’s the kinda thing you feel in your soul There’s a darkness over all of my friends I hope we make it home When did I become the one you hate? Every year I’m falling deeper I know you try but it’s too late I guess you heard I lost my mind But you saw the weakness in me and you figured it was time Why are you so afraid to fight? Why are you blind if you are right? There’s a darkness over all of my friends It’s the kinda thing you feel in your soul There’s a darkness over all of my friends I hope we make it home There’s a darkness over all of my friends There’s a darkness over all of my friends There’s a darkness over all of my friends I hope we make it home I hope we make it home I hope we make it home There’s a darkness over all of my friends It’s the kinda thing you feel in your soul There’s a darkness over all of my friends I hope we make it home There’s a darkness over all of my friends There’s a darkness over all of my friends There’s a darkness over all of my friends I hope we make it home I hope we make it home I hope we make it home
